{"id":16339,"date":"2023-09-11T10:10:53","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T09:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/?p=16339"},"modified":"2024-11-11T16:11:04","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T16:11:04","slug":"apollo-tyres-survey-majority-of-ev-owners-prefer-specialist-tyres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/apollo-tyres-survey-majority-of-ev-owners-prefer-specialist-tyres\/","title":{"rendered":"Apollo Tyres survey: majority of EV owners prefer specialist tyres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apollo Tyres Survey finds majority of electric car owners would prefer to use specialist tyres.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>64% would favour replacement tyres specifically designed for EVs; proportion is even higher among younger drivers <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Male EV drivers are most likely to favour EV-specific tyres <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>44% would be happy to pay more for specialist EV tyres<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>The Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV was the first all-season tyre developed for battery electric vehicles and hybrids to be launched in Europe<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Amsterda, 11 September 2023 <\/strong>\u2013 A survey commissioned by Apollo Tyres has found that a significant majority of electric vehicle (EV) owners in the UK would prefer to purchase replacement tyres that have been developed specifically for use on an EV.<\/p>\n<p>In a poll of 1,000 motorists commissioned by Apollo Tyres, 64% of EV drivers said they would prefer EV-specific replacement tyres, compared to just 1% who say they would be unlikely to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The Apollo Tyres survey also found that younger EV drivers are the group most likely to purchase a specialist replacement tyre. The majority (84%) of those aged 25 to 34 say they are either <em>\u2018very likely\u2019<\/em> or <em>\u2018somewhat likely\u2019<\/em> to purchase a tyre specifically designed for EVs, compared to 36% of those aged 45 to 54.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1181\" height=\"664\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-200x112.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-400x225.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-600x337.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-800x450.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Vredestein-Quatrac-Pro-EV-application.jpg 1181w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1181px) 100vw, 1181px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When replacing the tyres for an EV, men are most likely to select an EV-specific product, with 56% saying they would be <em>\u2018likely\u2019<\/em> or <em>\u2018very likely\u2019<\/em> to do so, compared to 51% of female EV drivers.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about factors that would motivate them to choose a certain type of replacement tyre, 44% of EV drivers cite <em>&#8216;high traction and grip in all weathers\u2019<\/em>, while 38% would favour a product <em>\u2018recommended by the car manufacturer\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When choosing tyres in the future, 44% of EV owners say they would be prepared to pay more for those products specifically developed for use on an EV, while 24% were still unsure.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Apollo Tyres launched the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV, Europe\u2019s first all-season tyre developed specifically for battery electric vehicles and hybrids.
