{"id":17196,"date":"2025-05-06T10:10:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T09:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/etichette-pneumatici-il-sondaggio-di-apollo-tyres-su-quanti-le-comprendono\/"},"modified":"2025-05-08T19:42:22","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T18:42:22","slug":"etichette-pneumatici-il-sondaggio-di-apollo-tyres-su-quanti-le-comprendono","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/en\/etichette-pneumatici-il-sondaggio-di-apollo-tyres-su-quanti-le-comprendono\/","title":{"rendered":"Apollo Tyres: a third of drivers purchase tyres without knowing their key safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apollo Tyres: a third of drivers purchase tyres without knowing their key safety and performance ratings.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Less than half (42%) of drivers say the retailer informed them about specific tyre ratings during their last purchase<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>A clear majority (74%) of motorists say knowing a tyre\u2019s grip, efficiency and noise rating would influence their buying decision <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Since November 2012, tyre retailers have been required by law (Regulation (EC) 1222\/2009) to inform customers about a tyre\u2019s ratings <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A survey commissioned by Apollo Tyres Ltd has found that a third (33%) of motorists are buying replacement tyres without understanding rating labels, which could compromise the performance and safety of their vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/05\/Vredestein-tyre-labels_600px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22579 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.anicecommunication.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/05\/Vredestein-tyre-labels_600px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The survey polled 1,000 motorists in Italy and identified that 42% were informed by their tyre retailer \u2013 in-store or online \u2013 about the relevance and importance of these ratings during their last purchase. This is despite legal requirements introduced in 2012 (Regulation (EC) 1222\/2009), mandating retailers to provide this information. In 2021, the EU strengthened these rules with an updated regulation (Regulation (EU) 2020\/740), requiring clearer tyre labels \u2013 similar to those on household electrical appliances \u2013 to highlight performance and efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Rating labels are a concise way to compare the performance of tyres to help consumers decide on the right product for them. It rates them on three criteria \u2013 wet grip, fuel efficiency, and external noise \u2013 ensuring that consumers understand the safety and performance levels of each tyre.<\/p>\n<p>Men showed greater awareness than women, with 52% of male drivers acknowledging they knew about tyre ratings, compared to just 30% of female drivers.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also found that consumers clearly value this kind of product information, with over half (74%) stating that awareness of these ratings would influence their tyre choice in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis survey underscores the need for stakeholders across the tyre industry to better educate buyers about tyre labels so they can make informed purchase decisions,\u201d comments Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial, Europe at Apollo Tyres Ltd. \u201cThere is now a very wide variety of specialised tyres on the market and ensuring that consumers are confident with the tyre label ratings will mean they are much more likely to select the right tyres for their individual requirements and ensure they are getting good value for money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apollo Tyres produces Vredestein premium passenger car tyres in Europe.
