Apollo Tyres’ new production strategy will enhance choice and ramp up supply of TBR tyres in Europe.
- Coverage of Europe’s TBR tyre segment set to rise to 80% by end of 2026
- Further investment in product development and technical support capabilities
- Expanded TBR product portfolio to debut early next year
Apollo Tyres Ltd is implementing a new Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) tyre production strategy that will increase the variety and volume of products available to fleets and operators across Europe. The move will allow the company to significantly expand its portfolio of TBR tyres and by the end of 2026, it will encompass up to 80% of all formats and sizes required by Europe’s diverse truck and bus market.
Improved product supply for Europe will be facilitated by the relocation of all Apollo Tyres TBR tyre production from Gyöngyöshalász in Hungary to its state-of-the-art mega-factory in India. With an annual output capacity of 5.5 million units, it already meets the exacting quality standards expected by European customers.
The changes will mean that Apollo Tyres will be able to accelerate the expansion of its TBR portfolio in 2026, introducing a range of new mega trailer and drive tyres, as well as making updates to popular ranges such as the Apollo EnduRace and Apollo EnduTrax.
Engineered in Europe for European customers – now with enhanced support
To complement its new production strategy, Apollo Tyres has strengthened its European customer support capabilities with the establishment of two new technical service teams. The Product Technical Service department will provide first-line technical support to customers, while the new Field Technical Service team will serve as the technical arm of Apollo Tyres TBR in the region, providing on-site assistance for customers where required along with product valorisation and working closely with the brand’s account managers and retail partners.
Aligned with a strategy to engineer TBR tyres in Europe for European customers, Apollo Tyres will also invest further in its European research and development centre in Enschede, the Netherlands, ramping up TBR product benchmarking, concept development and prototype validation.
As part of these developments, there will be an evolution in the TBR strategy, with a continued emphasis on strengthening retail-focused distribution across the region.
Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial EMEA, Apollo Tyres Ltd commented: “Our shift in production strategy marks a major step forward in Apollo Tyres’ ability to serve customers across Europe. By combining advanced manufacturing in India with dedicated R&D, engineering and support capabilities in Europe, we’re ensuring continuous TBR innovation, greater product availability and the standards of service excellence our customers expect.”
Apollo Tyres’ TBR range is recognised for delivering exceptional performance, durability and value for money. With a focus on long tread life, durability, retreadability and fuel efficiency the range has become a trusted choice for fleets and OEMs.
