XPENG today unveiled the new XPENG L03 during its “XPENG Live: Physical AI for All – XPENG Brand Day and New Product Launch” event in Munich. The launch marks the company’s first-ever simultaneous vehicle debut across 64 markets. As XPENG’s most globally focused model to date, the L03 represents a major milestone in the technology company’s international expansion and its broader Physical AI vision.

Positioned as a next-generation AI SUV Coupé, the XPENG L03 brings together four defining strengths: a sleek, sporty design, the comfort of a premium cabin, outstanding everyday versatility, and intelligent driving capabilities engineered for roads around the world. Developed under the direction of former Ferrari Head of Exterior Design JuanMa Lopez, the L03 embodies XPENG’s “Vital Flow” design philosophy through its wide-body stance, athletic proportions, fastback silhouette, frameless doors and a class-leading drag coefficient of just 0.228.

The cabin features a 15.6-inch central display, a Wide Head-Up Display (W-HUD), immersive ambient lighting, intelligent climate control and lounge-style seating. With 37 storage compartments, generous cargo capacity and a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kg, the L03 is designed to support both everyday commuting and weekend adventures. Built on XPENG’s proprietary technology architecture, the L03 brings some of the company’s most advanced intelligent driving capabilities to global markets.

Engineered to meet global five-star safety standards, the L03 is available in both a battery electric (BEV) version and the L03 Power X (REEV) variant. Powered by XPENG’s Kunpeng range-extender technology, the L03 Power X delivers greater flexibility, an extended driving range and a seamless driving experience without range anxiety.

A New Level of Intelligent Driving

At the heart of the L03 is XPENG’s latest NGP (VLA 2.0) – the company’s Next Generation Pilot, powered by its proprietary Physical AI model, which XPENG plans to roll out progressively across Europe starting in 2027. Unlike conventional ADAS systems that focus on individual driver assistance functions, XPENG NGP (VLA 2.0) is designed to understand and navigate highly complex real-world driving scenarios, bringing intelligent driving closer to the way humans perceive and respond to the road. The L03 Ultra is also powered by three Turing AI chips, delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power.

Beyond its intelligent driving capabilities, the L03 also introduces the international version of XPENG’s New Global Intelligent Cockpit Experience, powered by XOS 6. New features will be progressively delivered to users through future over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

Partnership with Google Maps Announced

During the event, XPENG also announced a major partnership with Google Maps for vehicles sold outside China. This makes XPENG the first automaker in the APAC region to launch a vehicle integrating the Google Maps Auto SDK (Software Development Kit).

Leveraging the SDK, XPENG will develop its own navigation system, giving users access to Google Maps’ core technologies and services within a customized XPENG experience. Users will no longer need to download the Google Maps app or rely on smartphone screen mirroring. Instead, they will benefit from a fully integrated, in-vehicle Google Maps experience, purpose-built for XPENG vehicles.

Importantly, XPENG will also leverage Google Maps Map Data Services, integrated directly into the vehicle, to support both NGP (VLA 2.0) and XPILOT Assist, the company’s entry-level driver assistance system. Global customers of the XPENG L03 will be the first across the automotive industry to benefit from this enhanced navigation experience.

“The XPENG L03 represents everything we have learned through more than a decade of investment in artificial intelligence, intelligent driving and mobility technologies,” said He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG. “Our goal was not simply to build a new SUV, but to create a vehicle that brings Physical AI into everyday life. Developed for a global market, the L03 combines advanced intelligence, thoughtful design and genuine practicality, making this technology accessible to more people than ever before. We believe the future of AI should empower people to move more freely, travel more safely and enjoy life to the fullest. That is the philosophy behind the L03.”

Beyond intelligent vehicles, XPENG continues to expand its Physical AI ecosystem across Robotaxis, humanoid robots and flying vehicles.

In Europe, for Europe

The L03 embodies XPENG’s “In Europe, for Europe” strategy, combining globally developed technologies with features, user experiences and infrastructure specifically tailored to European customers. An increasing number of European families have already chosen XPENG, and the company continues to strengthen its long-term commitment to the region through local R&D, strategic partnerships, investments in charging infrastructure and continued market expansion.

For XPENG, Europe is not simply a market to enter, but a market to build together. Through local development initiatives, including its independent R&D centre in Munich, and technologies designed around European users and driving conditions, XPENG is laying the foundation for its next phase of growth in the region, bringing its Physical AI-driven mobility vision to an ever-growing number of customers across Europe.

In Italy, ATFlow, the brand’s exclusive importer, will launch a nationwide marketing and communications campaign and open order books for the new XPENG L03 from the end of July.

The BEV range will be available from €34,990 for the Standard Range RWD, €37,990 for the Long Range RWD, €42,990 for the Long Range RWD Ultra, and €46,990 for the Long Range AWD Ultra Black Edition. The Power X (REEV) variant will start from €37,990. All prices include VAT but exclude delivery charges and IPT (Italian Provincial Transcription Tax). First customer deliveries of both the BEV and Power X (REEV) variants are expected by the end of 2026.
